2/3/2021 0 Comments Februrary: SparklemuffinOfficially named Maratus jactatus , the sparklemuffin is a species of peacock spiders native to Australia. Sparklemuffins have the ability to jump up to 50x their size (50 mm). They have a ritual that includes dancing back and forth and fanning out their colorful bodies. Male Peacock Spiders also lift up their legs and dance in an effort to try and impress females. Because of their recent discovery only 5 years ago, not much is known about them.

2/3/2021 1 Comment January: Gelada MonkeyThe Gelada Monkey is native to high grassland in the central Ethiopian plateau. They are mostly graminivores and grazers, and the majority of their diet is grass blades. Also known as the " Bleeding heart monkey", Geladas have a large red mark on their chests. They the only member of the genus theropithicus and are mainly terrestrial, spending most of their time time put in the grasslands and foraging.
